FROM THE HOTEL'S WEB SITE
Carate rainforest resort LagunaVista Villas nestles atop a small peninsular overlooking Pejeperrito Lagoon which surrounds it like a moat. From this private oasis the view is nothing less than nature's tour de force. Beyond the lagoon's far shore, the Pacific laps the sands of Carate Beach. The villa deck, the line of palms, the lagoon, the strip of beach, the vast blue Pacific, the endless sky: the layers of view stack up and you know then that you have arrived at one of those singular places on Earth where no matter how indiscriminately you press the shutter, a thing of beauty will be framed forever. You have arrived at LagunaVista Villas.
Our Mediterranean style villas are ideally situated to allow guests immediate access to Carate beach, Pejeperrito Lagoon, and of course, Corcovado, while enjoying comfortable surroundings, a private rainforest, spectacular views, and superior accommodation.
Our units are solid stucco wall with ceramic tile and a pastel color finish. Wood beam rafters, tile contoured roofs, louvered windows and local wood decks complete the basic structure. Each unit has an outside private pool, twin hot water showers, and Japanese-style tub. Custom-made king-size beds feature the best mattresses in Costa Rica.
Additional beds for those extra guests, built-in sofas and cushions, and custom-made coffee tables furnish each unit. Large overhead fans add to guest comfort. All lighting is generated by solar power. Propane gas water heaters are utilized throughout LagunaVista Villas. WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY:
Jan. 9, 2009“It was the best vacation we have ever taken.”
Dear Michael and Natalie: Our holiday with Costa Rica Expeditions was great!!! In fact it was the best vacation we have ever taken. Our boys had a blast and even though everyone had a tough time saying their names, (Zale and Zev) each guide and driver always tried. We have only wonderful things to say about Luis Cubero, our travel planner, and Luis, our guide. Due to plane delays, we arrived a day late in San Jose and were thrilled to find people to greet us and take us to Savegre Lodge.
Staying at Laguna Vista in Corcovado was very special. The place is beautiful. Kenya and the other staff who work there made us feel like royalty. Nan fed us great meals that were delicious and healthy. Luis was always there to get us up and out. He was thoughtful, fun, sensitive to our needs and is a wealth of knowledge on Costa Rica, which he generously shared with us.
The Pacuare Rafting and overnight was also a highlight. We did it and survived – both the tent and rapids and had a fabulous time. We look forward to returning and having more adventures. With warm memories and many thanks to all of you for a fabulous trip. -Judi Swartz & Bob Skolnik |
