This trip includes a private van and driver and professional Naturalist Guide during Days 1 to 11. Start this active family adventure with a white water trip down the Pejibaye River then fly to Tortuguero to observe turtle nesting (Jun-Oct only) and kayak the flooded forests of the National Park. Then fly to Manuel Antonio for an outrigger canoe trip following the Pacific coast under impressive cliffs to a secluded beach. End the day in Monteverde in the highlands. This trip features the opportunity to participate in community projects while staying at Tortuga Lodge in Tortuguero. You can choose to help in one of several projects in the area, such as: repairing schools, painting murals to beautify the town, and constructing an art center, boat dock or benches in the town plaza. Also needed are English, music or computer skills teachers, coaches for sports or other recreational activities for children, and leaders for study groups on topics such as health issues, drug addiction or child rearing.
