Begin the self-drive portion of your trip in San Jose. Your first destination is the Arenal area to view the active volcano and participate in optional activities such as mountain biking, wind surfing, hot springs and hiking (at additional cost). Next, you will drive to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. On Day 6, return your rental car in San Jose and take a chartered flight to the Osa Peninsula for two full days. Spend the first two-and-a-half days at Laguna Vista Villas in one of Costa Rica's most remote areas.
