Camila Romero
Guest Satisfaction Specialist

Camila was born on May 1, 1984, in Bogotá Colombia where her family is from.

Her father was a sales man for a company that distributed rubber window seals for cars throughout in Central America and he traveled more than he was home. Work brought him to Costa Rica often and in 2000 he decided to move his family here giving him more time with his wife Mariela and his daughters Camila and Valentina.

Camila has always loved to travel, she knows Colombia quite well, has hiked the many of the remote trails of Costa Rica and has spent time exploring the US and Europe. As a little girl Camila says that she loved to play that she was a flight attendant. She loved watching them walk down the aisle on flights, smiling and helping people with what they needed.

She has a Bachelors degree in Social Communication from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and another Bachelor in Tourism Administration from the Universidad Latina in Costa Rica. After graduating from the university in Costa Rica she first worked as an Au Pair for a year in Philadelphia and later with Disney for six months at the Hotel Port Orleans as a receptionist and concierge.

Back in Costa Rica, she worked as a Travel Planner with a different company before coming to work for Costa Rica Expeditions in our itinerary design department. When she heard that there was an opening in the Marketing Department she asked if she could make the switch, both Camila and the Marketing Department are very happy that she did. Corresponding with guests talking about their vacations and learning about their experiences has made her empathetic and at the same time more demanding when it comes to guest service.

Camila’s philosophy is to be happy and optimistic about every facet of life. When she’s not corresponding with guests about their experiences in Costa Rica, she loves to do jig saw puzzles, hike, go to spinning class and spend time with her friends and family.
