Manfred Sanchez
Transfer Guide

Manfred was born on April 13, 1991 in San Jose. His family moved to the province of Heredia when Manfred was still very young, and there lived his childhood and adolescence.

Manfred's father has worked most of his life in Tourism. When Manfred was a child, his father was a partner in a small bed and breakfast in Heredia. There, when guests wanted to tour the countryside, national parks or the beaches, his father used to take and guide them in the destinations they visited. He remembers seeing photos with his dad from all the places he visited with guests. Eventually, his father began to take him along with the guests on these excursions, something that developed in Manfred the love for nature and being outdoors. Due to this he decided to study the career of Eco Tourism.

Manfred has done volunteer work in environmental education in rural communities, has also been assistant to different researchers within national parks, and as he mentions "This has allowed me to know much of the territory of Costa Rica and to be in contact with tropical forests and the creatures that inhabit it. "

Manfred started working as a Transfer Guide with Costa Rica Expeditions in December 2016. This is his first job in tourism, and he hopes to continue studying to eventually being a Naturalist Guide and thus can share his passion for nature with the tourists who visit us.
